Poetry Book Cover Series
student assignment, 2019
This was a 5 week assignment that entailed researching 4 young poets and creating a through line that would link them that could be branded and promoted. We were not allowed to use any representative images, everything had to be abstract.
All type is hand aligned.
Process
For this project I wanted the images I created to translate the effect that each poetry book has on the reader. My idea was that with each book there would be a motif, the circle, that represents the self. In each cover the motif's interaction with it's surroundings is a subtle introduction to the themes within each novel. I wanted the colors to be bright but not necessarily happy because I didn't want to misrepresent the novels.
